We are 2 women, friends, daughters, granddaughters- using 3 WaterRower rowing machines to row 17.5 MILLION meters, the distance from our Worthing office to Hobart , where the Wicking Dementia research and Education Centre is located in Tasmania- Australia. Not powered by engine, but by love, grief and the fierce hope that we can make a difference.
We're rowing for Dementia UK & St Barnabas House, causes that hit deeply close to home. Each of us have watched someone we love slip away piece by piece. Dementia doesn't just steal memories - it steals voices, laughter, connection and time. It doesn't just affect the person diagnosed - it changes the lives of everyone around them. There were days when we felt helpless watching the people we love fade. BUT we're not helpless now. This row is our way of fighting back. 💪🏼
